Finding the appropriate eye surgeon for LASIK is, of course, the most important patient consideration when choosing LASIK.  In addition to being very experienced and knowledgable about the latest techniques, the surgeon must always be accessible and involved, as that always makes the patient more relaxed.  Unfortuantely, this is something that is becoming rare in the current environment of high volume, "assembly line" LASIK Centers, where patients generally do not spend a lot of time getting comfortable with the actual surgeons who perform the laser surgery.

 

Instead, at our office we intentionally offer a more comfortable, relaxed and personal LASIK experience with a high level of patient service.  As the eye surgeon, I am always available for one or more scheduled visits before the procedure to evaluate the patient and answer patient questions, because at our practice we know that the patient deserves a supreme level of comfort with our office, the surgeon and with the LASIK procedure itself.  After the procedure, I am again personally available for all scheduled follow-ups and monitoring. Moreover, I am always available by phone and email to answer questions.  My approach is to really take the time to go over all of the patient's options and treat the patient as a person, not a procedure.

At the same time, we are very sensitive to the cost of LASIK, and we pride ourselves at being able to deliver a higher level of patient service at a lower cost than our competitors.  You do not have to pay more to have a more comfortable and tailored LASIK experience.
